It is my honor and pleasure to introduce myself to you all. My name is Patrick Kizehe and I am happily married to Immaculee for 11 years and together we are blessed with four children. I am a new immigrant from Democratic Republic of Congo. I have a degree in social work and have been involved heavily working with children, adults , newcomers and senior citizens for more than 10 years here in Canada .

 

The Refugee Welcome Space will change people lives. When I arrived here back 2008, I didn’t know anyone, I had very limited English skills and lacked cultural awareness. It was very difficult for me to cope within this new environment and culture. Because of my first hand experience as a refugee, I have a big heart and passion to serve refugees/newcomers who are in same shoes as I was.

 

I am available to help educate you about the culture here in our new home of Canada, support you in preparing resumes , provide ESL classes and connect you to other communities who have other services which we may not provide here at our Wellness Center. I speak Luganda, English, Kinyamulenge , Swahili , Kirundi and Kinyarwanda and would love to serve as an interpreter.
