I am thrilled to be part of the team at Parkland Wellness Center!  I am excited about their vision to reach out to the community.

I have 17 years of experience in Clinical Counseling and Christian Counseling, with at least 15 in full time practice.  I worked as a Christian Counselor and Counseling Director at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Rosenthal for many years and I am happy to expand my practice to Spruce Grove, where I currently live.

I have training in a wide variety of Counseling Theories and Techniques such as CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), EMDR, Psychometrics, Gottman Couples Therapy, Hypnotherapy, and a variety of Trauma informed strategies.  I especially love to Counsel from a Christian Perspective, using Healing Prayer and Biblical Principles for guidance and healing.

I have completed 2 practicums with Christian Therapist, Mark Thompson, with a focus on Christian Principles and Healing Prayer, the Immanuel Way.  I taught Controlling the Fire (Anger Managment) and A Healing Journey courses for many years, and I am now working to develop a course on Anxiety.

I have experience working with couples, families, and individuals experiencing a variety of challenges, including Anxiety, Depression, Addictions, Anger Management, Sexual Abuse, Domestic Violence, PTSD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, Eating Disorders, Communication Problems, and Personality Disorders.

There is an interesting and unique story inside of each person.  I love being a Counselor because I get to read living ‘books’.  I want to empower people to write an ending to their story that is healthy and prosperous, even if the beginning was challenging.  I seek to create a safe place to heal and to connect – to be truly known, without fear of judgment.  I believe that healing of the body, soul, and spirit is essential to overall health and wellness.
